There are certain restrictions that children rebel against so theres no point puting restrictions on them as individuals but you can put restrictions on who comes over to your house it is your house after all. Forget about their fashion or anything to do with their appearance because they are their own person and may have different believes or values to you. Just appreciate the way they are but give them some guidence as long as you let them make up their own mind and decisions but you should them why you are unhappy about their fashion or piercings and think why it upsets you and go into your past to see what influenced your opinions about those things or seek a family counciler and go as a family and may see things from a more positive perspective but tell them how you feel about them and how much you love them and will always be there for them.
References :
yes i believe that you are too strict with your kids they are 18 and up and can do anything they want but its not like they are doing anything vulgar! but i understand what you mean by that but you do have to keep in mind that they are growing up! and as for the tattoo thing if its like your own name or anything like that it shouldnt really be a huge controversy tho! i just think that you need to put yourself into their minds and see how they think and ask them what they think about things like this!

good luck

For the most part, I agree with you. I didn't let my kids get piercings or tattoos either. Of course, when my daughters turned 18, they both did it. They both recently got the Monroe as well. I dont like it, but they are adults. As far as the more than one friend over, that is a matter of opinion and what you are comfortable with in your house. I never had a problem, I also don't have 7 kids. I would just check on them alot. Seems to me that you are being a parent. Too many parents try too hard to be their kids friends and that is a huge mistake. Your house, your rules.
References :
The only reason why they're acting out is cause you were too strict on them.
