I have a yamaha tw 200 and It starts up nice but then when I put it into gear it turns right off. I let it warm up and everything. Whats the problem. I am confused.
It's almost always fuel related. Clean the carburetor and see how it does then and replace the fuel filter. If it's been a while since you rode it, flush out the fuel tank and get some fresh gas..

If it jerks when you put it in gear, you may have a clutch problem.

sounds like a messed up tranny which is binding the motor up

I had a problem that was like what you’re dealing with and it turned out to be the switch on the side stand. If the switch is bad its made to kill the engine so you won’t ride off with the kick stand in the down position. You can install a jumper wire at the switch to see if that is the trouble or not..Good luck..
