I have a honda CRF50 and lately it has been harder to shift up into first gear (...yes UP) but it is possible. But when i try to go from first to second gear it won't shift. Any answers to why this problem is? Note: it has an auto clutch. People are telling my to check for a bent shifter. On the outside it doesn't look bent. What do i have to do to check on the inside if it is bent. Steps? What must i disassemble?
I would take it to a shop. There is special tools you need. You basically have to tear the whole engine apart to get to the tranny. Not a simple fix.
they may be referring to a bent shift lever which is what you use to shift up. that could also be in the wrong position.
Unless you have a manual or know what your doing please take it to a shop.
