I am looking for a old 1980 yamaha RX125 a motor, time is not on my side. If i cannot find a RX125 or similar motor in time. Is it possible to fit one of those new pitbike engine onto the bike with some engine mount modification?
I think you are barking up the wrong tree. Not only will you spend alot of time on mount fabrication, what about all the cables and controls?? If the Pit Bike is electric start, do you have enough room for the battery and the other things that you will need… AND when it is all done, you will have a 27 year old frame and suspension…
Go find a recent model dirt bike and modify it… you will save money and have a better performing bike.

do it. you will be working on it along time, also lots of trips to the goody store. If you like a challenge go for it. It will keep out trouble. Good luck

You can do this, just be sure to get the right engine, as some have the cylinder facing forward and some have it upright.
